Alta Badia Ski

Ski opportunities, runs and snow availibility

The Ski Opportunities

Alpinskiing: The resort provides the skiers with 130 km slopes and 53 lifts of different types with a capacity of 78 100 pers/h. The slopes itself are classified in 50% easy, 45% in medium and 5% in diffucult runs.

The longest run is with 4.15 km the run from Vallon » Corvara. With the "Dolomiti Superskipass" the area is connected with the neighbour skiing areas "Arraba/Marmolada" and "Val Gardena" also, so that you get a lot of additional skiing opportunities (see the "Skitour" section).

Snowboard: If you ride a snowboard you can use all slopes, but there are no special preperations for snowboarders e.g. an "Half-Pipe" till today. Maybe in the future!

Cross-country skiing: For cross-country skiers there is a small circuit at Corvara as well as a small cross-country area behind Armentarola. There, a cross-country skischool offered their services.

Sella Ronda

The Alta Badia area is directly linked to the famous Sella Ronda by the villages Corvara and Colfosco.

Skipass und Skimap

The Alta Badia Skipass is valid in the Alta Badia valley only! The limits are the passes Gardena, Campolongo, Falzarego including the cable car on top of the Lagazoui - but not the opposite skiarea! To use the continuing slopes you have to own the Dolomiti Superskipass, which is valid in all the areas around.

We recommend the Skimap "Sella Ronda", it's about 5 Euro (see picture left - you get it on site e.g. in a newspapershop) and very helpfull for first time skiing in that area. One page is showing the Sella Ronda area scale 1:25 000, the other one the skiarea Alta Badia, Arabba, Val Gardena and Civetta scale 1:50 000.

Slopes and snow reliability

The slopes get groomed very well daily. Today, about 80% of the slopes can provide by synthetic snow, so that there less restrictions only on bad snowconditions during the season.

Lifts and Skibusses

Due to the strong marketing of the "Sella Ronda" and the "1. world war tour" the area get's visited more and more of one day guests and bussgroups from outside. That's why there are bottlenecks with waiting times more than half an hour. The lift capacities has been increased on some importent places, but the lift connecting isn't coordinated enough. Here the bottlenecks 2005/2006 at important points known by us:
