News for the season
2008/2009
Lifts inside and around Alta Badia
- Arabba: "Masarei" (Pralongia) Lift: New 6-seater chairlift with 2200 p/h replaces old one. This should decrease the waiting times for skiers clearly. But sadly, no bubbles got installed so it will be an icy lift as before.
- Alta Badia: New 4-seater chairlift "Colz" in La Villa as link direction Santa Croce respectively to the chairlift "Gardenazza". Now the "with ski on shoulder walking" between the both chairlifts has ended - finally!
- Cortina d'Ampezzo:New circiuit Averau Troi. Using the Fedare run there is an exit in the upper zone to a new twin chairlift. It rides us on top of the "Croda Negra". From here you can ride to the ski area "Col Gallina" and to the Lagazoui cable car directly. You don't need longer the bus shuttle from the parking area "Bais de Dome" (near the Cinque Torri) up to the Passo Falzarego. So, the shuttle bus is not longer availabel! The time you have to spen for the "Gebirgsjägertour" (contraclockwise) is about 40 minutes shorter.
- Gröden: Col Raiser: New 8person cable car (2030 p/h) replaces the old one.
2007/2008
Lifts in- and outside Alta Badia

Ski opening
First time the ski saison starts on 25.11.06 with the Skilinks between La Villa, S. Cassiano and Corvara.
Skilink Kronplatz - Alta Badia
By Kronplatz.com news: "...In the 2006/07 winter season Kronplatz will move nearer to the centre of the Dolomites. With the construction of the new “Picolin” gondola, Kronplatz will soon be connected with the Alta Badia lift system and linked with the Sella Ronda ski circuit. The new facility on the south-west side of Piz de Plaies with the valley station in Picolin will be 1,500 metres long and have a vertical rise of 500 metres. The new lift will transport 2,400 skiers per hour. In the valley area a modern service centre with parking facilities, information point, ski rental, ski depot as well as a restaurant will be built. There will also be an attractive new piste, the red Ancona, a 2,000-metre long run with a vertical drop of 500 metres which will be leading to the Ladin village of Picolin. A level walk-in bus system will run from Picolin to Alta Badia every 15 minutes to complete the connection..."
The skibus stops in Pedraces. From here you have to take the skilink to Corvara via La Villa to reach the entry point of the Sella Ronda.
Comment: It's more comfortable to go by car. Stop is here the parking area in Corvara or better near Colfosco. With the new tunnels it takes about 30 min. by car up from Kronplatz area!
